Serving as the sole full-service hospital in North Jacksonville, UF Health North is a vital healthcare facility providing accessible and top-quality medical care for southeast Georgia and northeast Florida. The campus encompasses a 92-bed hospital, a round-the-clock adult and pediatric emergency center, and a multifaceted outpatient multispecialty medical office building. UF Health North is committed to providing comprehensive care through prioritizing faster recovery times and enhanced patient experiences.
Working with the project architect, the PRIME AE team played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape architecture throughout the health campus. The resulting solution thoughtfully integrated exterior courtyards, a green roof, a fitness greenway, and pedestrian circulation, all with deep respect for the distinctive characteristics of Northeast Florida. The centerpiece of the landscape architectural improvements lies in an enclosed courtyard, designed to provide a serene and suitable environment for both visitors and patients, as well as staff. Our carefully implemented approach provides appropriate separation while offering a sensitive solution to materiality, spatial articulation, and circulation. We combined plantings, elevation, and vertical improvements to create a highly functional and sought-after place that fosters respite, conversation, and relaxation.
Our team continues to support UF Health on other campuses with master stormwater projects, structured and surface parking studies, and landscaping projects, promoting the healthcare institution’s healing mission through all its facilities.
