The Canopy Hotel by Hilton

PRIME AE provided design for the new 12-story high-rise Canopy Hotel on Nationwide Boulevard in downtown Columbus, Ohio. The building is located across the street from the Greater Columbus Convention Center and near the Arena District and the Short North Arts District where more than 6.3 million people visit each year.

The hotel includes first and second floor public spaces, nine guestroom floors with 167 rooms including four suites, and a top floor with a rooftop bar and fitness center. The total building area is approximately 138,000 SF.

The new hotel reflects the style and character of the existing buildings in the District. The first two floors form the base of the building and include seven brick bays with large storefront windows that reference the warehouse style of the building currently occupying the site. The nine guestroom floors have a symmetrical design with brick bracketing a T-shape faced with composite aluminum panels. The top floor includes a front rooftop patio with an up lit angled portal soffit.
