Rehabbing a Vital Commuter Route
SR 202, Section 3RR
State Route 202, a 59-mile-long highway connecting New Jersey to north Delaware, is a vital commuter route seeing traffic volumes up to 105,000 vehicles a day in some places. To increase its capacity and meet the demands of the traveling public, PennDOT is making enhancements to relieve congestion and improve the integrity of its bridges, ramps, and roadways.
PRIME AE is providing supplemental construction inspection services for the SR 202 Section 3RR project, located in East and West Whiteland Townships, Chester County, which includes the rehabilitation and reconstruction of an existing dual six-span plate multi-girder bridge. Additional work includes construction of a retaining wall, concrete pavement restoration, retrofitting three existing dynamic message signs, replacement of two existing cantilever sign structures, drainage improvements, guide rail, signing, pavement markings and multi-phase maintenance and protection of traffic.
