Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center

PRIME AE provided architectural design services for this 23,000 square foot, two-story sports medicine and orthopedic center. The facility is an extension of the Westerville, OH site which already included a Nationwide Children’s Hospital Close to Home treatment center.

The building is designed to mimic elements of the existing structure to give the two a campus feeling. Tower elements with metal hipped roofs, vertical glazed ribbons, and arched parapet walls continue the pattern language of its sister building. Matching brick, a window framing system, and colorful graphics complete the imagery.

Inside the facility, there are physical therapy and observation facilities for sports enhancement in addition to typical offices, exam rooms, cast rooms, and radiology. The upper level contains a running track, basketball backboard and hoop, and various areas for a variety of exercise equipment. Finishes in the space are bright and colorful, consistent with Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s standards.
