The Hall of Fame Village, located in Canton, Ohio, is an impressive 100-acre sports and entertainment destination that is centered around the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The expansive complex encompasses eight immersive venues including sports facilities, eateries, office buildings, retail space, and a football stadium. PRIME AE has been entrusted with designing several of these iconic venues within this landmark complex.
One of the key developments is the Constellation Center for Excellence, which is one of the mixed-use development buildings that PRIME AE is designing. Situated in the west endzone of Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, the research, retail, and office building serve as office headquarters for the Hall of Fame Village.
The vision for the Center of Excellence aligns with the natural landscape and complements the surrounding structures and features. The design incorporates a grand stairway and lobby that captures the natural slope of the site, and is situated on axis to command sweeping views of the football stadium.
Our team encountered and addressed numerous challenges while designing the comprehensive and complex engineering systems for the facility. Given the poor water pressure in the area, we incorporated a building booster pump and water softener system to serve the building. We coordinated with the architect on interior space mechanical engineering to make sure that the supply and return air diffusers integrated the interior finish. We worked in tandem with the site civil engineer to provide necessary services, such as incoming natural gas, domestic water, sanitary, and storm water services.
In taking a forward-looking approach, our design accounts for future flexibility and expansion. We designed portions of plumbing systems with capped connections and shut-off valves for easy tie-in for future tenants. The mechanical design includes packaged rooftop units that can temporarily condition the existing space as well. PRIME AE’s engineering services reinforced that the Constellation Center of Excellence would be a state-of-the-art facility that attracts tenants, users, and visitors both now and in years to come.
