When the world-famous Mayo Clinic opened its first campus outside of Rochester, MN in 1986, members of the PRIME AE team were part of the original development effort. Now with medical campuses around the world, the Mayo Clinic treats thousands of patients every year with the highest level of care. Building on our long-standing relationship that began with the initial clinic, our team was there to support the Mayo Clinic’s expansion to Jacksonville, Florida. In addition to leading the development of regional impact (DRI) and zoning approvals for the Jacksonville campus, PRIME AE team members worked with the Davis family and Mayo Clinic to implement the vision for the area, which included the creation of San Pablo Parkway as a scenic gateway. The campus has since grown to contribute $2 billion annually to the Florida economy.
We proudly continue to provide comprehensive engineering and planning services for the campus, which now includes over 6,400 employees. During a recent three-year period of growth, Mayo invested nearly $500 million in major construction projects, with over 520,000 square feet of new facilities for patient care, biomedical research, education and technology. As the campus engineer and planner, we rely on creative engineering and scenario modeling to keep pace with growth cycles, maintain flexibility, and support demanding campus infrastructure requirements. Our areas of responsibility include planning and design services for utilities, vehicular circulation, parking, pedestrian ways and accessibility, outdoor spaces, and stormwater management.
We are proud to support this world-class organization as it provides clinical care, education, and research that offers healing for the whole person.
