Located in a historic suburb of New Orleans, the Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) Headquarters is the central location that supports the global mission of augmenting and reinforcing active service Marines. The facility was created with the goal of consolidating six commands into one central command. As part of the design-build team for the key military facility, PRIME AE provided project management, programming, interior architecture design, and roof consulting services. In addition, our team was a valuable partner to the Department of Defense, the state of Louisiana, and private developers as all stakeholders navigated the complexities of bringing six commands together.
Housing a wide variety of uses, there are secure areas, command center, executive suites, courtroom, weapons simulator, data center, and training areas. After design completion, PRIME AE was retained for validation of design, purchase and installation of furniture, fixtures, and equipment valued at $30M, and managed the entire move including seat mapping and a swing plan.
Because of the extreme complexity of the project, PRIME AE developed a meticulous master schedule to coordinate all project-related activities and keep to a critical timeline. Even with a six-month delayed project start, there was no change to the end date. Our team helped complete the design two months ahead of schedule, stay ahead of schedule throughout construction, and welcome the Marines early into their new facility.
