Expanding the environment for growth and development in a youth detention facility

Indian River Juvenile Correctional Facility (IRJCF), under the administration of the Department of Youth Services (DYS), is a secure detention facility catering to male youth. DYS envisions augmenting IRJCF’s youth program by introducing a new standalone facility for Behavioral Health Services (BHS), a volunteer program, and a multi-denominational chapel.

The location for this facility is adjacent to the existing gymnasium and outdoor basketball, along the facilities’ front entry perimeter fence. The planning process entails a comprehensive survey and field investigation of the proposed building site, aligning the project scope with available funds, and evaluating the project construction schedule. Throughout all stages, adherence to Department of Youth Services policies and procedures remains paramount to the success of this forward-thinking endeavor.
