Halifax Health is a multi-facility healthcare network serving Flagler and Volusia Counties in Florida. Started as Halifax District Hospital in 1928, Halifax Health now provides a continuum of healthcare services through a comprehensive network of organizations that includes a tertiary hospital, a community hospital, psychiatric services, four cancer treatment centers, the area’s largest hospice organization, and a preferred provider organization. As Halifax Health has grown over the years, PRIME AE has supported the organization at multiple locations to deliver a master plan, cost analysis, and engineering study to guide future development opportunities and assess expansion risks.
At the main campus, our team conducted a comprehensive assessment of existing conditions and transportation networks, leading to the development of a strategic plan for undeveloped property. The resulting solution was that our team planned for a multi-phased project comprised of new road networks, commercial improvements, a spine and brain treatment center, family transitional housing, a hotel, and additional supportive programming.
Our involvement at the West Volusia Care Center in Orange City included master planning, landscape architecture, and engineering analysis. This facilitated the expansion of an existing facility and the development of a new medical office building (MOB) on adjacent property. The initial phase of design featured a healing garden and additional beds, followed by a subsequent expansion associated with the MOB. Our team successfully tackled challenges related to existing utility networks, zoning stormwater infrastructure expansion, and access/egress.
Through our master planning, engineering analysis, and regulatory planning services, PRIME AE enabled the ongoing growth of Halifax Health as it continues to provide essential healthcare services to the communities it serves.
