Crucial Corridor Rehabilitation Improves Mobility
Franklin Street Rehabilitation
Downtown Hilliard is made accessible with the rehabilitation of Franklin Street, the main line between two major thoroughfares, Cemetery Road and Main Street. With mixed residential and commercial businesses in the area, the rehabilitation of Franklin Street was crucial in improving walkability, safety, parking, and aesthetics while lessening the streets environmental impact. Supporting the needs of the City and the surrounding community, the project include the installation of curb and gutter, sidewalks, pedestrian-scaled street lighting, on street parallel parking with permeable brick pavers to treat stormwater runoff, landscaping, storm sewer installation, water line replacement, and cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining of the existing sanitary sewer. PRIME CM&S, a subsidiary of PRIME AE, provided construction administration, construction inspection, and materials testing.
Due to the project’s location, there was extensive coordination required with the residents and business owners throughout construction. The project finished two months ahead of schedule and nearly $400K under the estimated construction budget.
