The rehabilitation of Franklin Street, the main line between the two major thoroughfares of Cemetery Road and Main Street, drastically improved the accessibility of downtown Hilliard, Ohio. With mixed residential and commercial businesses in the area, the Franklin Street Rehabilitation improved walkability, safety, parking, and aesthetics for the mixed residential and commercial area while lessening the street’s environmental impact.
Supporting the needs of the city and the surrounding community, the project included the installation of curb and gutter, sidewalks, pedestrian-scaled street lighting, on-street parallel parking, permeable brick pavers to treat stormwater runoff, landscaping, storm sewer installation, water line replacement, and cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining for the existing sanitary sewer. PRIME CM&S, a subsidiary of PRIME AE, provided the services.
Extensive coordination with the residents and business owners was required throughout construction. As a result, the project finished two months ahead of schedule and under the estimated construction budget.
