The Allen Water District operates under the mission of managing and facilitating the installation of public water infrastructure to provide high-quality, reliable public water to all unincorporated areas and townships in the county. In accordance with that mission, the East Regional Waterline initiative extends water services to areas of eastern Allen County that currently lack municipal water supply. The project includes the design and construction of a new 12-inch transmission line that will provide municipal water service to the Villages of Lafayette, Harrod, and Westminster, currently served by private water wells. An existing agreement is in place with the City of Lima to provide water treatment for the service extension.
PRIME AE provided complete design services for the project in accordance with USDA/Rural Development funding requirements for the extension of water service. We completed the final design for the 8-inch to 12-inch waterlines; two railroad crossings; seven stream crossings; 152 fire hydrants; and one 300,000-gallon single pedestal elevated tank. To fully support the successful completion of the water extension, we also provided bidding, construction administration, and full-time resident project representation services.
PRIME AE’s commitment to Allen County’s mission allowed even rural areas the ability to access clean, reliable water service.
