Improving Virginia’s Mobility

Dulles Metrorail Phase 2/Silver Line

The 23-mile, 11-station Dulles Corridor Metrorail extension project’s primary focus is to provide transit services in the Dulles Corridor, provide an alternative to automobile transportation, and to support future transit-oriented development along the corridor. The Dulles Metrorail provides a one-seat ride from Dulles Airport to downtown Washington, DC serving Tysons Corner (Virginia’s largest employment center), and the Reston Herndon area (the state’s second largest employment concentration).

Phase 2 includes the construction of six stations, 11.4-miles of track and guideways, and wayside components extending from Wiehle Avenue in Fairfax County to Dulles International Airport and on to Route 772 in Loudoun County. During Phase 2, stations will be constructed at Reston Town Center, Herndon-Monroe, Innovation Center, Dulles Airport, Route 606, and Route 772/Ashburn. Phase 2 also includes a major rail yard at Dulles Airport.

As the Quality Assurance Manager, PRIME AE is responsible for performing regular audits and oversight surveillance of Quality Control, and overseeing all Quality Assurance testing utilizing the services of an independent lab.
