Crafting construction blueprints for over 1,200 intersections across Columbus, PRIME AE has focused on installing new handicap access ramps and sidewalks. These designs strictly adhere to the latest American Disability Act (ADA) regulations and the City of Columbus’ design standards. Our approach involved assessing existing ramps for ADA compliance, pinpointing strategic locations for pedestrian access push-buttons, selecting the most suitable ramp types based on curb and corner configurations, and recording essential parameters for new ramp designs, all while providing accurate cost estimates.
Leveraging cutting-edge technology, PRIME AE utilized GIS ArcView/ArcPAD software and Xplore Tablet PC to gather field data. Our previous contracts extended beyond ADA ramps, encompassing enhancements like roadway improvements at critical junctions such as Sawmill Road and Billingsley Road Intersection, the West Case Road Super Elevation, and a comprehensive overhaul within the Riverview Plan Update. This update involved redesigning approximately 2,000 linear feet of roadway, drainage enhancements, curb ramps, traffic lighting, and revisions to meet the Construction and Materials Specifications (CMS).
PRIME AE remains committed to delivering high-quality, compliant infrastructure enhancements that prioritize accessibility and safety across the city’s intersections and roadways.
