Aircraft Hangar Roof Repair
Aircraft Maintenance Hangar
Constructed in 1961, the Aircraft Maintenance Hangar Building 3714 is used to provide maintenance to military aircrafts. The aging roof of the building was compromised by rust and holes causing rain water to leak through and onto exposed aircraft parts, office spaces, and various mechanic shops.
The existing 83,000 square foot roof included a modified bitumen roof over light weight concrete. PRIME AE’s investigations indicated several thousand square feet of steel deck and approximately 1/3 of the light weight concrete needed replacement. Ninety percent of the structural roof penetrations leaked and deck sections at the penetrations required deck repair.
PRIME AE provided professional roof analysis and design services for the repair of the roof. The roof repair and replacement included the removal of existing roof materials, repairs to existing roof deck, replacement of roof insulation system, sealing of all roof penetrations, and replacement of all pitch pans.
