Describe your role and what you do at PRIME AE.
I work in the transportation department as a bridge engineer in our Columbus, Ohio office. I was recently promoted to Project Manager. My day-to-day involves various stages of design, plan production, meetings with clients, and preparing technical proposals.
What do you find most rewarding about your job?
Seeing the finished product! I really enjoy going out to sites for past projects and looking at the new bridge or culvert and knowing that I played a role in the process.
What advice would you give to folks just starting their career?
Don’t be afraid to ask for opportunities. The worst that could happen is a person says no. I made it known from an early point in my career that I wanted to grow from a design/technical role into a management role and have volunteered or asked to take on tasks that would move me in that direction. These roles started off small and continue to grow and evolve as I gain more experience.
What are your hopes for the industry?
I see a bright future for our industry. I believe transportation will always play a key role in our infrastructure.
If you could do something other than your current job, what would be your dream job/career?
Book editor. I love to read; however, I may be the worst speller on the face of the earth, so this career would die before it even began.
What are you most proud of in your life?
My daughter, Charlie. Watching her grow and learn new things everyday fills my heart.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at PRIME AE?
Hanging with my family, cooking, and reading.
What is your favorite food or the best meal you ever ate?
I’m Italian so all food is good food.
Describe yourself in three words.
Honest, dedicated, ambitious.
What is your favorite song, movie, actor?
Song: Bittersweet Symphony. Movie: Pride and Prejudice. Actor: Denzel Washington.
Where is your favorite travel destination/dream vacation?
I love going to NYC. My uncle lived there for years, and that is where we would go at least twice a year
