After announcing our partnership with Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake (Habitat Chesapeake) last year, 2022 proved to be a great time for this fruitful partnership to blossom. This partnership not only allowed us to blend the financial, volunteer, and advocacy resources of PRIME AE, but it assisted Habitat Chesapeake to continue its mission of building affordable housing and revitalizing neighborhoods throughout the Baltimore Metro area, which they have been doing for 40 years.
On Tuesday, December 6th, Habitat Chesapeake’s Chief Advancement Officer Gregg Mitchell and Director of Donor Relations Michael Garcia visited PRIME AE’s office for a holiday surprise. President and CEO Kumar Buvanendaran along with members from the PRIME AE team presented Habitat with a check in the amount of $63,078.44, over double the amount of last year’s donation of $28,000. These funds were raised by employees who donated accrued paid time off (PTO) to a general pool to be used to benefit a charitable organization. PRIME AE then generously matched the employees’ donation 100%.
Habitat Chesapeake’s Chief Advancement Officer Gregg Mitchell said, “We are extremely grateful for the financial and voluntary support from a company providing real leadership in the architectural and engineering field. It’s a natural partnership and one built on deep commitment.”
PRIME AE employees will continue their support to Habitat Chesapeake by attending multiple build days, such as a Women’s Build and Veterans Build, scheduled throughout 2023.
