Lou is a structural/bridge engineer with 28 years of experience as a project manager and inspection team leader. He has experience performing NBIS bridge inspections on a wide range of bridge types and has inspected steel beam/girders, steel truss (both deck and thru-truss), precast concrete beams and box culverts, prestressed concrete beams and slabs, cast-in-place concrete beams, slabs and box culverts, timber bridges, and steel culverts. He also has experience inspecting highway support structures such as high mast lights, cantilever and overhead roadway signs, and signal poles. Lou has performed NBIS inspections on more than 2,800 bridges and 800 ancillary structures. His inspection experience ranges from small structures to workhorse highway bridges to long span complex bridges such as the Chesapeake Bay and Harry Nice Bridges.
