On Wednesday, October 26, 2022, Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake (Habitat Chesapeake) celebrated 40 years of “Bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope” by honoring the countless individuals, corporations, government partners, faith groups, and supporters at its Annual Cornerstone Coming Home Donor Reception.
Held at the historic Clifton Mansion in East Baltimore, members from the PRIME AE team joined invited guests, including Congressman Kwaisi Mfume, Delegate Jay Jalisi, and representatives from the City of Baltimore’s Mayor’s office to hear first-hand stories from Habitat Homebuyers and HabiCorps Workforce Development Program Alumni. Special guest Aaron Henkin, of WYPR’s Maryland Curiosity Bureau, treated guests to an intimate evening of meaningful discussion surrounding affordable homeownership within Baltimore city and its surrounding counties.
The evening concluded with Habitat Chesapeake recognizing their 2022 Partner of the Year Awards, who collectively contributed more than $7.5 million in investment to affordable housing and Workforce Development programs. PRIME AE is proud to have been recognized as the Corporate Donor of the Year. In 2021, the PRIME AE team presented Habitat Chesapeake with a life-size check in the amount of $28,722.72. These funds were raised by employees who donated accrued paid time off (PTO) to a general pool used to benefit a charitable organization. The company then generously matched the employee’s donation 100%.
Chief People Officer Pam Butziger says, “We are honored to receive this incredible award from such a great organization. The generosity of our employees is humbling and gratifying, and we are proud to have continued our support with Habitat Chesapeake throughout 2022 by attending multiple build days.”
