PRIME’s Columbus office was selected to design the rehabilitation and widening of Alum Creek Drive, a vital traffic and freight corridor on Columbus’s southeast side. The project will require significant utility relocation, design of a Norfolk Southern railroad crossing, shared use/bike paths, multiple bus stop installations and landscaping.
City officials want the improved Alum Creek Drive corridor not only to add capacity to the north-south arterial but to improve pedestrian safety and give better transit access to commuters who live in nearby working class neighborhoods. Designs under this contract will need to accommodate access to the Agudas Achim Jewish Cemetery, an at-grade crossing by the Norfolk Southern Railroad, and multiple COTA bus stops.
