PRIME evaluated the

existing roof structure and provided detailed design for rehabilitation of the wooden roof system of Ludowici Roof Tile’s 120-year-old tile factory. Many parts of the wooden roof system were very distressed due to warping, humid

environment, general aging, poor design when first constructed, and abuse over the years. PRIME developed a repair scheme which avoided the downtime that would have been experienced if the roof system would have been replaced as advised by others. The resulting construction cost was $400,000, which saved the owner approximately $2 million compared to the roof replacement recommended by other consultants.
