I-95, Section 100

MDTA
Baltimore County, Maryland

PRIME was retained by the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) to provide drainage, stormwater management, and erosion and sediment control design in conjunction with the roadway design and highway improvements along I-95 from north of MD-43 to New Forge Road located in Baltimore County, Maryland, a distance of approximately 2.25 miles. In addition, several bridges over/under I-95 were reconstructed and some of the cross culverts under I-95 were extended or replaced.

PRIME’s design work included storm drain systems, crossing culverts, inlet spacing, pipe design, hydraulic grade line computations, culvert design, pipe profiles and storm drain structure, and pipe schedules. PRIME also designed five wet extended detention ponds and multiple grass channels to provide for water quality and quantity treatment according to MDE stormwater management regulations. A comprehensive stormwater management report was prepared including all detailed computations and references. Erosion and sediment control included five construction stages to complete the proposed construction. Design plans, detailed sequence of construction, and supporting details were prepared in coordination with maintenance of traffic construction stages.
