The City of Columbus Division of Sewerage and Drainage (DOSD) awarded a contract to PRIME for design work associated with the rehabilitation of the existing structural supports for a portion of the Clinton No. 2 Sanitary Sewer. Under this contract, PRIME prepared the design and construction documents for work involving structural design of the supporting piers and bridge structure and the design of cured-in-place pipe rehabilitation of the sewer.
PRIME evaluated the existing physical and structural conditions of the piers and the structure supporting the sewer as well as the existing physical and structural conditions of the stream regulating structure (weir) across the Indian Run before it meets Olentangy River. PRIME also prepared an engineering analysis and evaluation of the methods that could be utilized for rehabilitation of the piers and the stream regulating structure.
PRIME determined methods of site access and construction in order to cause the least disturbance to residential areas and to minimize any environmental impact. In addition, PRIME prepared a cost estimate for the recommended alternative as well as construction documents.
