Michael Rice, PE

Vice President of Mid-Atlantic Operations

Mr. Rice has over 27 years of transportation engineering experience. Although he has completed many bridge design projects, he has specialized in the management of bridge inspection projects during much of his career. He holds a BS in Civil Engineering from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) and an MBA from the University of Baltimore. He is a registered Professional Engineer in several states and has completed all of the FHWA basic and advanced bridge inspection courses.

Mr. Rice’s work experience includes Bridge Inspection Practice leadership roles at LPA Group (now Michael Baker Corporation) and KCI Technologies. He also spent the early part of his career in charge of bridge inspections at Maryland State Highway Administration. He has managed several U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Worldwide Bridge Inspection contracts and has been in charge of bridge inspections all over the United States as well as in several foreign countries. He has also worked extensively on bridge inspections for Maryland State Highway Administration and Maryland Transportation Authority. His experience includes work for Virginia DOT, North Carolina DOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, FHWA, and several municipal level agencies.
