Corporate History
PRIME Engineering, Inc. (PEI) traces its roots to 2007, when it purchased the Maryland and Pennsylvania transportation offices of Prime Engineering & Architecture, Inc. (PEA) which was founded in 1992 and is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. In 2010 PRIME Engineering grew through the purchase of the transportation operations of a New England based civil engineering firm (United International Corporation), adding three new office locations in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut to the company. In 2012 PRIME Engineering grew again through the acquisition of the architectural and engineering operations of Prime Engineering & Architecture (PEA) in order to become a full service Architectural/Engineering (A/E) firm. PRIME has grown from one employee in 2007 to over 100 engineers, technicians, architects, and support staff in 2012 through a combination of acquisitions and internal growth to satisfy the demand for services. Many of our key staff has come from very large top 100 ENR engineering firms throughout the country.
